Introduction to Handguns 101 – 5 Hours

“Getting Started the Right Way”

This introduction to handguns training class will teach the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for owning and using a handgun safely.  We will cover:

·        Handgun Knowledge & Safe Handling

·        Ammunition Knowledge

·        Handgun Selection

·        Fundamentals of Handgun Shooting

·        Actual Shooting on Our Private Range

This class is designed for people with little to no knowledge of handguns or those who are years out of practice and want a good refresher course.  The first portion of the class will be in the classroom and will cover basic knowledge of handguns and ammunition and move into an in-depth discussion of safety.  We will then move to the range where the fundamentals of shooting will be demonstrated and practiced by the student using dry fire techniques.  The basics of stance, grip, sight alignment, trigger control, breath control and follow-through are emphasized to maximize your success from the first shot.

After the fundamentals are understood, live fire practice will instill confidence in the student and provide an opportunity to shoot under the watchful eye of the instructors.  You will leave this class having the knowledge, abilities and confidence to own, handle and fire a firearm.

Firearms, ammunition and safety equipment will be provided.  You may also furnish your own firearm, ammunition or safety equipment should you wish to train with your personal handgun.  Expect to shoot between 100 and 200 rounds depending on class size and time constraints.

Minimum age for this class is 12 and all minors must attend with a parent/guardian.

Cost of the 5-hour course is $50 for a scheduled class.  Class sizes are limited to allow for individual attention and instruction.

Private instruction is available for $200 for up to two individuals.  Private instruction will provide more one on one time with the instructors and the course can be tailored to closely meet your needs and desires.
